Birth Time Rectification

A chart is only as good as the birth time behind it. If your recorded time is approximate, rounded off or missing, an astrologer can attempt to narrow it down using known life events. This process is called rectification.

Who it is for

• People with a guessed or rounded birth time (e.g. "around 6 am")
• People whose family records conflict
• Adopted persons or those without records
• Anyone whose chart seems not to match their life

How rectification works

1. You share a list of significant, dated events: education milestones, job changes, marriage, relocation, childbirth, the loss of a close relative.
2. The astrologer tests candidate birth times against these events using dashas and transits.
3. A narrower time range, or a most likely time, is proposed.

What to provide

• Date, place and approximate birth time or window
• A dated list of 8–12 major life events, with accuracy as high as possible
• Any record: hospital certificate, birth register entry, family note. In Mumbai and Thane, a municipal or hospital birth record often has a time.

What you receive

A suggested birth time or range, with the reasoning and confidence level. We state clearly if the evidence is not enough.

Limits

Rectification is an interpretive process. Different astrologers can reach different results. It depends on the quality of your event list. It cannot produce certainty.
