Do Not Sell My Data

Sansthaan does not sell your personal information, and does not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. This page explains that commitment, how to confirm or opt out in writing, and the privacy rights available to visitors in India, California and other US states, and the UK and European Economic Area (including NRIs and Indians living abroad).

1.Our commitment

Because we do not sell or share personal information, there is nothing for you to switch off. If you would still like to put an opt-out on record, or to be sure it is respected if our practices ever change, you can do so below. We will honour it.

2.Opt out or send a request

Use either of these, free of charge. We do not require you to create an account.

You can also send a request for access, correction, deletion or any of the rights below by the same routes. We will verify your identity, usually through the WhatsApp number you used with us, and respond as set out in section 8.

Global Privacy Control (GPC) and Do Not Track. We treat a browser GPC signal as a valid request to opt out of sale and sharing. As noted, we do not sell or share, so the signal does not change how we handle your data.

3.What “sell” and “share” mean

Under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), “selling” means disclosing personal information to a third party for money or other valuable consideration, and “sharing” means disclosing it to a third party for cross-context behavioural advertising. Disclosing information to service providers who process it on our behalf and under contract (for example WhatsApp for messaging, a payment gateway for payments, and hosting providers) is not a sale or sharing.

4.Personal information we collect and disclose

In the past 12 months we have collected the following categories, as the CCPA/CPRA describes them. None was sold or shared.

We use these categories for the purposes in our Privacy Policy and keep them for the periods described there. We do not collect biometric data or precise geolocation, and we do not record audio or video consultations unless you agree.

5.California and other US state rights

If you live in California, or in another US state with a similar privacy law, you may have the right to:

• know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, sell or share, and access a copy;
• correct inaccurate personal information;
• delete personal information, subject to legal exceptions;
• opt out of the sale and sharing of personal information (see section 2);
• limit our use of sensitive personal information (we do not use it beyond providing the service you request);
• appeal our decision on a request, where your state provides for this; and
• not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. We will not deny service, charge different prices or give a different quality of service because you made a request, and we offer no financial incentive for data.

You may use an authorised agent to make a request for you. We may ask for your written permission and for you to verify your own identity. California residents may also ask which categories of personal information we disclose to third parties for their own direct marketing; the answer is none.

6.UK and European Economic Area rights

If you are in the UK or the EEA, our contact details are on this page and our processing is described in the Privacy Policy. We process data on the basis of your consent, to provide the service you request (contract), to comply with law, and for our legitimate interests in security and preventing abuse. You may have the right to access, correct, erase or restrict the use of your data, to object to processing, to data portability, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Because we operate from India and our providers may process data outside your country, your data may be transferred internationally, as explained in the Privacy Policy.

7.Your rights in India

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may access information about your data, ask for its correction, completion, updating or erasure, withdraw consent, have your grievance redressed and nominate someone to exercise your rights. See the Privacy Policy for details.

8.How we respond

We acknowledge a request within 48 hours and respond within 30 days; where US state law sets a 45-day period we will respond within that period, and tell you if we need more time. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and may decline a request where the law permits (for example where we must keep payment records, or the request is unverifiable or manifestly unfounded), in which case we will explain why.

9.Changes and contact
