People in Mumbai and Thane search for a Reiki healer, a pranic healer, a chakra healer or a sound healer for many reasons: a stressful year, grief, restlessness, or simple curiosity about practices they have heard about from friends. Sansthaan offers guidance and sessions in these areas, in the same careful tone as the rest of our work, and this page explains each practice and how we approach it.
We want to be clear at the start. Energy healing is a complement and never a replacement for medical or mental-health care, and we do not promise cures, relief or results. Scientific evidence for most energy-based practices is limited, and many people simply find them calming. If you have symptoms, please see a doctor first. Sessions are online by phone or video, in English, Hindi or Marathi, wherever the practice allows.
Energy healing is a broad label for practices built on the idea of a subtle life energy that can be balanced through touch, attention, sound, breath or visualisation. India calls this energy prana, China qi and Japan ki. An Energy Healing Practitioner or Spiritual Healer usually describes their work as helping that energy move with less obstruction, and as supporting calm and awareness.
No instrument has measured such an energy, and well-designed studies of most of these practices show effects similar to placebo or simple relaxation. Relaxation itself can be valuable, and many people feel better for an hour of quiet attention. That is the honest frame we use: a possible source of rest and comfort, offered alongside proper care, never as a treatment for disease.
Reiki is a Japanese practice developed by Mikao Usui in the early twentieth century. A Reiki Healer places hands lightly on or just above the body while the person rests, and the practitioner is said to channel universal energy. Training is taught in levels, and the titles Reiki Master and Reiki Grandmaster describe advanced stages within a lineage, not a medical qualification.
Distance Reiki is the same practice offered without being in the room, with the person resting at home while the practitioner focuses attention from elsewhere. Some people find it calming, and for them that comfort is real. It is not a medical treatment, and no mechanism has been shown. We offer it as a quiet practice and ask you to judge it by how you feel.
Pranic healing is a modern system developed by Master Choa Kok Sui in the late twentieth century. It uses hand scanning and cleansing of the so-called energy body, without touch. A Pranic Healer talks about the aura, the field said to surround the body, and Aura Cleansing is the practice of sweeping or visualising that field clear. These ideas come from yogic and theosophical writing, not from physiology.
A Chakra Healer works with the seven centres described in yogic tradition, from the root at the base of the spine to the crown. Sessions usually combine breath, visualisation and sometimes colour or a Crystal Healer's stones. Crystals have no proven healing property. We treat them as aids to attention, we never advise buying expensive stones, and we encourage a simple, inexpensive approach if you choose to use any.
Sound healing uses voice, chimes, gongs and singing bowls, usually while you lie down and listen. A Sound Healer or Singing Bowl Therapist strikes or rubs the bowls so that long, soft tones fill the room. Himalayan bowls are popular, though their exact history is debated, and the modern use of them in therapy is recent.
The experience is often deeply restful, in the way that slow music or a temple bell can be. Studies suggest that slow rhythmic sound can ease tension for some people, though it is not a treatment for any condition. Online sessions work well with headphones or a quiet room, and you can stop at any moment if it does not feel comfortable.
A Meditation Healer or Spiritual Wellness Coach guides breath, posture and attention, usually in short sessions that you can repeat at home. Traditional methods from yoga and Vedanta, such as silent sitting, mantra repetition and body awareness, are well known and widely practised. We offer these as everyday supports for steadiness, not as therapy.
Kundalini is described in yoga as a latent energy at the base of the spine, and practices said to awaken it can be strong. As a Kundalini Awakening Guide we keep to gentle, guided meditation only, with no forceful breathing or advanced techniques. A word of caution: if you have anxiety, trauma, psychosis or other mental-health concerns, please speak with a clinician first, and stop any practice that disturbs you.
These are newer or cross-cultural approaches, and honesty about each matters. Angel therapy is a New Age practice of reflection with guidance from angels. Theta Healing, founded by Vianna Stibal, uses a meditative state and belief work. Quantum Healing borrows the word quantum, but it has no connection to physics. Each is a belief-based practice, and none has strong scientific support.
Shamanic healing draws on indigenous traditions of ritual and journeying, and a Shamanic Healer's methods vary widely. Bach flower remedies, devised by Dr Edward Bach in the 1930s, are highly diluted preparations with no demonstrated effect beyond placebo. They are not a treatment for illness, and we ask that you never stop any prescribed medicine. We offer these gently, as reflection, and according to your comfort.
Mantra healing is the repetition of chosen sounds, such as Om or a deity's name, in a steady rhythm, often with a mala of 108 beads. It is among the oldest Indian practices, and many people find that rhythmic chanting slows the breath and quiets the mind. We share simple mantras with correct pronunciation and a manageable routine, and we do not set heavy counts. Our tantra and mantra page explains the wider tradition.
Dowsing uses a pendulum or rods to seek answers or to find energy lines. Controlled tests have not shown that it works beyond chance, and the movement is understood to come from tiny unconscious muscle responses. We present it as a tool for reflection, not for finding water, diagnosing ailments or making decisions about health, money or relationships.
Hypnotherapy uses guided relaxation and suggestion, and in clinical hands it can support some people with specific concerns. In an energy-healing setting we keep it light: relaxation, imagery and gentle positive suggestion, nothing that probes trauma. Any clinical concern, such as panic, depression, addiction or a phobia, should go to a qualified clinician.
Past Life Regression is a guided visualisation in which a person is led to imagine earlier lives. It rests on belief in rebirth, and memories that arise may be imagination, not recall. Studies show that such imagery can feel vivid and false memories are easily created. We approach it only gently, as reflection, and we do not use it to explain illness, relationships or fortune.
A session is a calm conversation first. We ask what you are hoping for, explain what the practice is and is not, and agree on a short, simple plan. Sessions are online by phone or video, and we suggest a quiet room, a comfortable seat or bed, headphones, and a glass of water. You may stop at any time, and you are never asked to continue any practice.
These practices tend to suit people who wish for rest, a sense of ritual or a structured pause, and who understand them as complements. They are not suited to anyone seeking a cure, or to replace a doctor, therapist or prescribed medicine. We can also connect the session with our Spiritual Guidance, Tarot Reading or astrology reflection if that is useful to you.
Yes. Distance Reiki can be offered by phone or video, with you resting quietly at home. Some people find it calming. It is a gentle practice and not a medical treatment, and results are not promised. You may stop whenever you wish.
No. Energy healing does not cure illness, and we make no such claim. At most it may offer rest and calm. Please see a doctor for symptoms and continue any prescribed treatment, and treat any practice as a complement only.
Reiki is a Japanese practice using light touch or hands held near the body, while pranic healing is a later system using hand scanning without touch and a particular method of cleansing the energy body. Both are belief-based, with limited scientific evidence.
Most people find them restful, but please tell us if you have a pacemaker, are pregnant, have epilepsy or are sensitive to sound. We keep volumes low, and you can stop at any moment. If in doubt, ask your doctor first.
Only as a gentle guided meditation, without forceful breathing or advanced methods. Strong kundalini practices can be unsettling for some, so anyone with anxiety or other mental-health concerns should consult a clinician first.
There is no scientific evidence that it does. Images that arise may be imagination. We offer it only gently, as reflection for those who believe in rebirth, and never to explain illness, relationships or fortune.
There is no demonstrated healing effect beyond placebo. Used as aids to attention or ritual they do no harm for most people. We do not push costly stones or products, and never advise stopping medicine.
Not as a clinical treatment. We offer light relaxation and imagery only, with nothing that probes painful memories. Anxiety, phobias, depression and trauma should go to a qualified clinician, and we are happy to say so openly.
Choose a quiet room, sit or lie comfortably, keep water and headphones nearby, and note what you hope for. Eat lightly beforehand and keep the hour free of interruptions. Tell us about any health or mental-health concerns so we can adjust the session.
Anyone looking for a cure, or planning to stop medical care, should not rely on them. If you are in crisis, in distress or unwell, please contact a doctor or mental-health professional first, and return to us afterwards if you wish.
